Recently, the national key research and development program project “Titanium alloy Foil composite melting and non-forging direct rolling short process preparation technology” undertaken by the Institute of Titanium Metal Technology has made significant progress. Relying on the B750-20 narrow titanium strip mill independently designed and developed by Pangang Hongjian Company, the precision rolling of special Ti10-PG titanium alloy foil with 500 mm wide width and 0.1 mm thickness has been successfully achieved.
The project team formulated a detailed optimization process plan for the problems in the early rolling production process, and successfully produced Ti10-PG titanium alloy foil with excellent surface quality and high dimensional accuracy, which marks that Panzhihua Steel has the independent production capacity of hydrogen fuel cell electrode dedicated titanium alloy foil. It has laid a solid foundation for Pangang titanium metal products to enter the field of new energy.
