On June 27th, good news emerged from the construction project of the aerospace-grade wide-width titanium alloy plate production line. The 1850mm four-roll reversible hot rolling unit conducted the roughing test rolling of Grade 5 alloy plate, successfully reducing the 240mm thick alloy slab to a semi-finished product of 110mm. This milestone signifies significant progress in the construction of the aerospace-grade wide-width titanium alloy plate production line.
According to reports, the aerospace-grade wide-width titanium alloy plate production line is a key provincial project invested and constructed by Baoti Corporation. The products are primarily used in national defense, aerospace, shipbuilding, and marine engineering fields, providing high-quality material guarantees for national security, aviation, and aerospace. The project commenced in 2021, and the project team has meticulously organized and scientifically coordinated the construction, with safety as the foundation and quality as the core. They actively cooperated with on-site construction operations and process quality control, addressing technical issues in civil construction and equipment installation, and regularly convened project progress coordination meetings to ensure the smooth implementation of project contents such as the construction of the main plant, power and auxiliary facilities, equipment foundations, internal and external networks, and equipment installation.
The project achieved formal power supply on April 14, 2023. On May 12, the entire line transmission was successfully completed, followed by the successful rolling of 9mm pure titanium plate on June 9. On June 25, the rough rolling of pure titanium was accomplished, with each achievement reflecting the Baoti team’s working style of self-reliance and hard work. Particularly on June 26, successful rough rolling of TA15(Ti-6.5Al-2Zr-1Mo-1V) alloy was achieved, followed by the successful rough rolling of Grade 5 alloy on June 27. The simultaneous success of these two alloy plate trials not only signifies a new breakthrough in the project construction but also indicates that the first domestically developed 1850mm titanium alloy plate hot rolling unit with independent intellectual property rights has initially acquired production capabilities, completely overcoming the long-term dependence on imported core technology for plate rolling production lines.
In the next step, the project team will further optimize the control system based on the existing foundation and strive for new breakthroughs in the digitalization and informatization construction of the project, making new contributions to the high-quality development of the company.
